Hygiene
When it comes to Simpsonville family dental care, we take a comprehensive and preventative approach. This allows us to address minor issues before they become BIG (and expensive!) problems down the road.

At a minimum, schedule a dental cleaning and checkup every six months to ensure your smile stays in top shape!

Our skilled hygienists are known for their gentle touch and high-quality, thorough work. We take the time to explain everything, so you always feel educated and empowered throughout the process.

Comprehensive Exams
In addition to performing a thorough dental cleaning, we’ll complete a comprehensive exam as part of your routine dental visit. This allows us to check your smile’s health and address any issues proactively.

Your exam includes:

  • Cleaning
  • Periodontal evaluation
  • X-rays
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Intra-oral pictures
  • Flouride treatment (optional)
  • Oral exam

If any issues are found, we’ll let you know and work together to come up with a treatment plan. By catching problems early, it ensures they don’t become bigger and more expensive problems later on.

Periodontal Treatment
Periodontal (gum) disease is very common in adults and can lead to severe consequences if left untreated. It’s critical to catch this disease at an early stage to prevent bone and tooth loss.

Remember, your oral health is the gateway to your overall health!

Periodontal disease should be taken seriously because it can be linked to other broader health concerns, such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and more.

Be on the lookout for the following symptoms of periodontal disease:

  • Red, irritated, bleeding, or swollen gums
  • Chronic bad breath
  • Loose teeth or loss of teeth
  • Extreme tooth sensitivity
  • Receding gum line
  • Abscessed teeth

The best thing you can do to prevent gum disease is to get regular dental checkups, at least every six months. We’ll perform deep cleanings to remove the harmful bacteria that collects beneath the gum line, leading to disease.

Children's Dentistry
Yes, we love kids!

Healthy smiles start with regular trips to the dentist. Teaching your children the importance of good dental habits is one of the best things you can do for their health — for a lifetime!

We understand visiting the dentist can be a scary experience for kids (it often is for adults too!). That’s why we go above and beyond to keep them relaxed and having fun.

We take our time, educating them in an engaging way about the importance of preventative care.

This ensures they have a positive view of the dentist early on, preventing phobias down the road that could keep them from getting the care they need.

Tooth-Colored Fillings
Got tooth decay or a chipped tooth?

Fillings are a great solution, allowing us to restore the tooth and prevent any further damage. Traditional fillings are metal, but we proudly offer tooth-colored, metal-free fillings that look and feel like your natural teeth.

If you’re looking for a natural and easy solution to restore your teeth, contact our office today about tooth-colored fillings.

Root Canal Therapy
Experiencing severe tooth pain? You might need a root canal!

The inside layer of your tooth, known as the pulp, is where your tooth’s nerve is located. If your tooth becomes cracked due to trauma or decay, the pulp becomes exposed. This can leave the pulp vulnerable to infection, creating intense sensitivity, pain, and even an abscess.

Aside from being horribly uncomfortable, if left untreated, you could risk losing your tooth.

Many people associate root canals with being a painful experience, but the truth is, getting a root canal provides pain relief!

The procedure alleviates the pain and can save your tooth. It’s a surprisingly painless procedure and can be completed in a single visit.

If you’re experiencing tooth pain, there’s no need to suffer. Contact our office immediately, so our dentists can take care of you as soon as possible.

Sealants
Most of your teeth are not perfectly aligned and may have grooves and pits on their surfaces. Even if you brush and floss diligently every day, it can be tough to reach every little surface of your teeth, making them susceptible to cavities.

Sealants are a great preventative solution for both children and adults.

They provide a thin, seamless coating on the surface of the teeth that fills in all the nooks and crannies. This keeps the surface smooth and protected from decay.

Extractions
We get it. Extractions sound scary. However, they may be necessary to prevent oral disease.

In some cases, an extraction is needed to prepare for future procedures such as orthodontics or implants.

For many teens, wisdom teeth removal is also a critical procedure to keep their jawline and oral health in check.

No matter what type of extraction, rest assured you are in good hands. Our team will take great care in making the experience as comfortable and pain-free as possible, from start to finish. Most patients are surprised at how easy it is!

Sleep Medicine
Do you wake up feeling tired despite getting the recommended 8 hours of sleep? You may be suffering from a sleep disorder!

Sleep disorders, such as snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), can impact your quality of sleep significantly, which harms almost every aspect of your health and life.

Nightguards
Experiencing headaches or jaw soreness that just won’t go away?

You might be grinding your teeth at night without even knowing it. Over time, this grinding can wear away at your tooth enamel, causing more serious problems like a TMJ disorder.

Luckily, we have a simple solution!

Nightguards can protect your teeth. They are durable barriers that fit snuggly around your teeth. Wear them at night, resting peacefully, knowing your precious smile is protected.

Same-Day Crowns
When a tooth has suffered severe decay or damage, a filling may not be enough to save the tooth.

A dental crown, also known as a cap, can restore your tooth’s appearance, shape, alignment, and occlusion (bite).

Even better, at Simpsonville Dental Associates, we provide same-day crowns!
